Moms and technology

Friends and family complain about me style of replying to emails. Why on earth do I put lines between their replies and at the bottom? It does not make sense! No idea what I am talking about? Look what me and a friend made years back: Why is Bottom-posting better than Top-posting. Nowadays I just don't let them do their way I will do mine.

A couple of days back I had my mom in my car and she told me with pride she learned how to email and that she emailed with my dad while they were both at work. This is how it went:

Mom: "I only do not get it why you have to reply at the top of the email"
Me: "That is how they do it nowadays"
Mom: "That is not logical you read stuff from top to bottom."

I love you mom :-)

Internet Explorer vs. Other browsers

I am a web developer.. professionally and as a hobby. One of the main annoyances is one that many others of my fellow developers share:

Style sheets...

Why oh why is there always a browsers screwing things up! It is so darn hard to get the site look like what you want. I develop in Linux using Firefox as my main browser.When I am happy I make the mistake of openening the site in Internet Exploter.

At the moment I am looking at two divs below each other with a 1 px shift in IE...

Hotmail's way of removing spam

Blogs are good for ranting :-)

I used my hotmail account waaaay back as a spam account. In the days before they invented GMail. Now I use it only for my MSN. Today I was bored and decided to remove all the spam from hotmail account. But to my surprise I had not logged in for 30 days and I had to 'reactivate' my account resulting in a loss of all my spam.

I have no idea if it contained some useful mails but they are all gone now. So a 30 days Internet sabatical is out of the question. Good thinking Microsoft.

Pathe, shame on you

I just saw Aeon Flux this weekend. The movie would have be good if the darn movie was not out of focus. When stuff happened in the background it was sharp. Even worse.. it was just blurry. If I pay 8 euros for a movie. I want quality.

Cannot wait to rent it on DVD. Good audio and video quality.

So Pathe SHAME ON YOU!
